At BLSCI we are currently conducting research into how the use of Flip Cameras could be used in communication pedagogy.
I was able to interview several experts in the field and the following is a selection of several theories on communication and personal belongings…

That was such a fun interview! I wanted to use a small camera next semester to photograph students present at the rehearsals and post it on a blog for the professors to check on. Perhaps a set of notes on a blog and a camera would be a better authoritative tool to have students keep their appointments. I’d photograph empty classrooms for all those who missed meetings! I don’t know if that would be more work or less, but visuals are always fun records for both students and professors, I think.
All Macaulay Honors College freshmen got flip cams this year! We really expected they would mostly be used in the spring, in the Peopling of New York seminar, but already in the fall many students in the Arts in NY used them–especially in the NYC snapshot event. Many examples on our YouTube channel! http://www.youtube.com/user/MacaulayHonorsCUNY
Excellent video! The only thing missing was the subtitles…And fabulous choice of “prompt,” too. It was exciting to see each responder take it where they wanted to go (or, not go). You know you’ve got a great exercise when you manage to both surprise people *and* capture their personalities with their answers.
